Lucci 8y/o  & Figgy  are some of our OG mini donkeys. They are know as Sicilian Donkeys and are really the fellas in charge. They are the sweetest of boys!

Enzo & Franny are Moonrise’s 2 BLM burros from Nevada HMA’s. While they came in from separate round-ups, they are the bestest of buddies who wrestle with each other like  dogs do! It’s very sweet and we are so happy they are here and safe.

Rocco came to Moonrise sanctuary in 2024 from a slaughter bound sale pen. He is such a little delight and treasure to our farm. Did you know that hundreds of donkeys wind up in slaughter bone auctions each month in this country? We are so grateful Rocco has made it to moonrise sanctuary!
